ICASL has two examination schemes that students in Sierra Leone can benefit from:

    ACCA/ICASL Joint Examination Scheme

    The Accounting Technicians Scheme for the West African sub-region (ATSWA) under the umbrella of Association of Accountancy Bodies In West Africa (ABWA).

ACCA/ICASL Joint Examination Scheme

The ACCA/ICASL Joint Examination Scheme has been operational since 1996 and hundreds of Sierra Leoneans have benefited under this scheme to become qualified and chartered accountants and technicians. The partnership with ACCA UK has turned out accounting professionals who are presently in various strategic positions in both the public and private sector. ICASL continues to make tremendous contributions to the Human Resources Development in the Sierra Leone, particularly in the fields of Accounting, Auditing, Taxation and Business Advisory Services.

How to become a student of ICASL/ACCA Joint Examination Scheme:

1.

Write an application letter. Address it to address in the box below

The Director,
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sierra Leone, 4D College Road, Off Main Road, Congo Cross, Freetown

2.

Attach a photo of any of the following:

  • A copy of birth certificates/passport/ Driver License/National Identity card

  • A copy of documentation relating to your education (certificate/transcript of results)

  • The letter should be submitted along with an application fee of NLe50

3.

You will be informed of a date to attend an interview.

4.

Afterwards, you will be required to pay registration fees of Le1,715 which comprise of the following

ACCA Registration fee £45 @27 - Le1,215

ICASL Registration & Subscription fee - Le400

Bank Charges - Le75

Postage - Le25


Note the following:

  • Exemptions are granted to students who are degree holders in Applied Accounting, Accounting and Finance.

  • Exchange rate is subject to changes due to the prevailing market rate.

  • ICASL does not determine exemptions, the decision is made by the accreditation department at ACCA.
